Explore the Norfolk Coast Cycleway

Heading out on your bike on holiday is one of the best ways to explore the area. Hitting the open road on two wheels often allows you to take in so much more than if you were restricted by a car or public transport. Norfolk offers a great opportunity to traverse a unique and changing landscape from historic towns to quaint villages, seaside hideaways to sprawling woodland.

Whether a seasoned cyclist or a newcomer Norfolk’s relatively flat landscape makes for an unintimidating journey. You also needn’t worry about bringing a bike with you, as there are numerous local cycle hire companies that can deliver bikes and safety equipment suitable for riders of all ages. Ringstead Loop – 23 miles

Enjoy the changing scenery from the Victorian seaside town of Hunstanton to rural open landscapes. Along this route, you’ll enjoy the stunning scenery and sweeping views of the wash. There are also plenty of opportunities to stop for a refreshment break or for some souvenir shopping along the way.

Docking Loop – 32 miles

This idyllic route is the perfect ride for cyclists looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life as it takes you through some of Norfolk’s countryside. Starting from Burnham Market, you will travel through the splendour of the scenic Stanhoe and its village pond all the way to the iconic Bircham Windmill. This ride also has the perfect stop along the way at Houghton Hall for some wildlife spotting as it is home to white fallow deer.

Ingoldisthorpe Loop – 18 miles 

A route that is ideal for an easier trip for sightseers and wildlife explorers. You’ll travel through a plethora of stunning villages in Norfolk, and be able to spot the wildlife on display at the iconic Houghton Hall.

Sandringham Loop – 22 miles

If you are looking for a ride that is the best of both worlds, then look no further. With off-road areas making it ideal for mountain bikers looking for an adrenaline thrill, this route also offers beautiful views of the Sandringham estate, its surrounding villages, as well as the cosy countryside cottages that make up the North Norfolk area.
